Political Cartoon
In the political cartoon, the artist viewed the second amendment of the Bill of Rights as a foolish thing. The second amendment in the Bill of Rights allows people to keep and bear arms. In the cartoon, we can see Uncle Sam tied by the second amendment, with a bullet hole in the middle of his huge forehead. Uncle Sam (representing America) is in a tough situation because the second amendment gave people the right to own materials that can be used for harm. Because the second amendment gave people the right to own guns, people can use that to uproot the peace and security of America (Uncle Sam shot in the Head). The artist believed that the second amendment should be removed because it causes more harm than good.
The second amendment in the Bill of Rights allows American citizens to keep and bear arms. This relates to the political cartoon because the cartoon is depicting the potential harmful effects of the second amendment in the Bill of Rights. As we can see, there is a bullet hole in Uncle Sam's forehead. Without the second amendment giving others the power to own guns, Uncle Sam would not have been shot in the head and bound by the second amendment.
